September 24, 2010 Celebrating 80 years ...The beauty of the written word – and the taped word – is that a record remains, even many years later. In looking through old issues of the Jewish Western Bulletin this week, we came across a real gem. An article in the Sept. 23, 1976, paper bore the headline, “Carter asserts Israel didn’t cause Palestinian problem.” It contains several quotes from then-presidential candidate Jimmy Carter about his “undeviating, unequivocal” support of Israel and its need to defend itself.
