Over-the-edge remarks

Letters

Editor: Regarding Mr. Rosenbloom's comments that he didn't receive the satisfaction he was looking for regarding the broadcast he found offensive on Loveline ("Mojo apologizes for inappropriate remarks," Bulletin Local News, Sept. 26), I have occasionally tuned in to the station and found some of the humorous commentary over the edge for my taste. Adam Carolla, one of the co-hosts, is a comedian, however, and going over the edge is something comedians frequently do.

I found the ruling of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council interesting – that the comments in question breached the Canadian Association of Broadcasters code of ethics. I'm not sure I agree with the ruling. I think Mr. Corolla was merely using extremely absurd comedy in his reference to the Holocaust.

Mr. Rosenbloom may not get further results with the CRTC. However, he can direct his comments to KROQ FM, PO Box 10670 Burbank, Calif., 91510. Loveline is produced in Los Angeles.
