There are 10 double passes available a maximum of one pass
per caller/family to the advance screening of In America,
taking place Monday, Dec. 8, 7 p.m., at Tinseltown.
The Statement is a polical thriller written by Academy Award-winner
Ronald Harwood. It features Academy Award-winners Michael Caine
and Alan Bates, along with Tilda Swinton (Adaptation) and
Jeremy Northam.
Caine plays Pierre Brossard, 70, who was once a member of the French
milice, the enforcer of the Nazi-collaborating Vichy regime. His
crimes include the execution of several Jewish prisoners in Dombey,
but he never spent a day in jail. For more than 40 years, he has
been sheltered by members of the Catholic Church, but finally, someone
is coming for him. With his hunters on his heels, he must try to
stay alive and find out who is after him, leading the chase through
the countryside and cities of France.
Directed by Sheridan (My Left Foot), In America is
a family film starring Samantha Morton (Minority Report),
Paddy Considine (24 Hour Party People) and Djimon Hounsou
(Gladiator).
Irish émigrés Johnny and Sarah hit the streets of
modern-day Manhattan, their two young daughters in tow, and emerge
into a realm as comical and adventure-filled as it is scary. The
family faces a new future but first they must face down a past that
haunts them.
With no cash to spare, Johnny and Sarah settle into a chaotic New
York tenement and attempt to turn the dilapidated setting into a
true home. While they see America as rife with challenges, dangers
and weirdness, their daughters see it as a magical place where anything
can happen, a place that might release them all from the anguish
of what has come before.
