Article is misleading
Letters
Editor: Your article entitled "Unidentified body in plot"
(Bulletin cover story, Oct. 16) is both misleading and inappropriate.
It is misleading because:
It suggests that I told Mr. Goslin that unfortunate incidents
of this sort had happened in the past. I never said this.
The decision to bury Mrs. Toft in a different plot from the
one originally planned, as well as the decision to then move the
body of her husband so that they would be buried togethter, were
made by the family after options were discussed by the Chevra Kadisha.
The family agreed to move and rebury their father immediately after
the seven-day shivah period was concluded and this is indeed what
transpired.
The immediate family subsequently thanked us for the sensitivity
displayed throughout this unfortunate incident.
Your article is inappropriate as it suggests impropriety. Regarding
the circumstances surrounding the burial of the party in the unmarked
grave, the matter is under investigation.
May we suggest that before you engage in sensationalist journalism,
that you first get your facts straight.
Rev. Joseph Marciano
