In the same issue, the article “Camp Hatikvah welcomes you aboard,” began “Camp Hatikvah has done it again! The Catamaran has been acclaimed throughout North America for its great stability and safety and will greatly enhance Camp Hatikvah’s water-skiing program.” The article goes on to talk about the popularity of water-skiing, as well as the camp’s water-skiing program and some of the staff who would be working that summer.JCC Day Camp 1961

Finally, the write-up under the photo of the kids about to go swimming let the community know that the Jewish Community Centre Day Camp was to open July 3 and that, “Water fun is one of the camp’s basic activities each and every day. All the pools in the Greater Vancouver area are used. Water games, swimming instruction, sand castle building and sea shell hunts all play a part in this phase of the program.” The many other activities of the camp were also listed and readers could get more information by going to the centre or by calling REgent 3-1168.
