Party planning made simple
A Night of Stars will feature 25 vendors for all your special
event needs.

Anyone who has ever planned a family event such as a wedding or
bar mitzvah will tell you that there are a lot of little details
that can make it a pretty stressful exercise. Between booking a
time, date, location, appropriate caterer and various forms of entertainment,
party planners can spend hours, days or weeks doing research or
comparing prices and services. But thanks to a newcomer to Greater
Vancouver's Jewish party scene, the planning process will get a
lot easier.
On June 10, at the Delta Vancouver Airport Hotel, Jordan Zwicker's
company Enter Productions will host A Night of Stars, a one-stop
shopping showcase for anyone planning a family event.
Featuring 25 different vendors, the trade show will give people
the opportunity to meet industry professionals face to face and
get a good idea of how they want to design their event. Whether
it be caterers, DJ companies, bands, bridal registries or a variety
of other entertainment specialists, Zwicker said that A Night of
Stars will give people an idea of exactly what is out there.
"It's an opportunity for people to save the time and hassle
of looking around or just going with what everyone else does,"
he explained of the concept behind the showcase. "Now they
can go to one place, one hotel, on one night and see for themselves
exactly what's out there for them and what products or services
people are offering."
A Night of Stars will serve not only the party-planning public,
but the vendors as well, as they will have the opportunity to show
off their wares in a targeted atmosphere.
"We want to get everyone more exposure," Zwicker said.
"Advertising is important, but what is better than having a
show like this, where people can meet each other face to face? I
think this is good for the whole Vancouver party scene."
While A Night of Stars is all about planning other people's parties,
Zwicker said that visitors can expect a party-like feeling when
they enter the Viscount room of the Delta Hotel. There will be strolling
musicians, videos of b'nai mitzvah and wedding parties, models in
wedding gowns, food samples and cotton candy.
"It will feel like you're walking into a party," he said.
"All the things that you would want for a party or didn't even
know that existed for a party will be right in front of your eyes
when you walk in the front door."
Originally from Toronto, Zwicker moved his interactive DJ company,
Beyond Sound, to Vancouver just a few months ago, in order to fill
what he thought was a need in the marketplace. The idea for A Night
of Stars is also one he took from Toronto, where he had been involved
in planning similar events. Zwicker said he plans on running a similar
event each year in Vancouver so that party planners can be refreshed
on what's new in the industry.
"There are a lot of vendors that are offering new products
that haven't been exposed to the Vancouver market," he said.
"Every year there are going to be new products and styles and
it's an opportunity for everyone to see them and price them out."
Admission is free for A Night of Stars, which will run from 6 to
10 p.m., and children are encouraged to attend. For more information,
