Does the end justify the means?
Letters
Editor: The Bulletin's editorial on the United States in
Iraq ("Americans offer us hope," April 18) is somewhat
akin to condoning the actions of a bank robber. After all, though
the law has been broken and two innocent bystanders killed, we can
find justification "in the best-case scenario." The intentions
of the thief may have been admirable, and the monies may be given
to cancer research. So, according to your approach, we should forget
about niceties of law, just sit back and await the judgment of history.
