Arabs rejected state

Letters

Editor: Prof. Rafeh Hulays, in his letter published in your April 18 edition, can dispute Joan Peters' book From Time Immemorial all he wants. But, after 55 long years of useless rhetoric – "I was here first" – isn't it time the Arabs accepted reality? In 1948, the United Nations majority partitioned what was left of Palestine into two separate states, one for the Arabs and one for the Jewish people. This was accepted by the latter and rejected by the former, who have been fighting to reverse history ever since.
