Israel does have friends

Letters

This letter was originally sent to the Shop Israel organizing committee and is reprinted with permission.

Thank you for hosting Shop Israel. My husband and I happened upon your newspaper ad, although we rarely have the time for the newspaper. We attended Shop Israel because it was our chance to support Israel's economy without travelling there this year. The products were better than expected. Also, we read your information at the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver on display and we are going to buy Israel Bonds, now that we know the proper channels.

The U.S. government has cut loans to Israel. So, we, the people will come to Israel's aid. (When a door closes, God opens a window!) Although they were the few, even in Hitler's time, the friends of Jewish people made important contributions. And although we may be few, Israel does have friends even now who will help. God giving us the strength, we are going to help and stand with Israel against the difficulties. God has promised us, "Those who bless Israel, I will bless." So we will do what God has told us to do and we will stand with Israel and help as we can.

We would like to attend Shop Israel again and would be pleased to be notified. Also, we have many friends who are like ourselves and who, given advance notice, we can invite and bring with us.

Thank you again for Shop Israel. We love everything we purchased.
