Community deserves thanks

Letters

Editor: On behalf of the board of directors of congregation Beth Hamidrash, I would like to thank everyone that came forward to help us in the building of our wonderful new synagogue. First I would like to thank the Jewish Western Bulletin for giving us so much publicity which resulted in an outpouring of support from the community. I would like to also thank the many people that have contributed so generously to our building fund and helped in other ways throughout the years.

There are so many people that have helped us arrive at the advanced stage of development that we are now at. In particular, I would like to mention the generous contribution of the Khalifa family in donating so many months of their time to directly overseeing the construction. Architects Michael Katz, Jonathan Katz and Renee Katz have donated countless hours of their time in conceiving and designing a structure that the entire community can be proud of. Last but not least, we are most grateful to Victor Setton for his continued hard work and generosity.

We are still in need of additional support to furnish the sanctuary and complete the kitchen and social hall. With the strong support that the community has shown up to now, we are confident that we will be able to complete the project in the very near future.

Stanley Shawn
President, Beth Hamidrash
