Celebrating 80 years ...
The headline of the article in the April 27, 1950, issue of the Jewish Western Bulletin almost says it all: “Youth Aliyah needs clothes for young newcomers.”
From Feb. 13 to March 5, 1950, Israel Youth Aliyah had “accepted 403 children into their program” and the letter from the WIZO office secretary details what the organization most needed, play-suits being preferable to frocks “because they are more practical and can be given to girls and boys alike.” Diapers were also in high demand.
