Celebrating 80 years ...JWB 1958_Torah burial ceremony

With the headline “Burial ceremony for sacred books Sunday, June 29,” the Jewish Western Bulletin announced the second-ever communal burial ceremony of “all torn and discarded scrolls, prayer books and prayer shawls.” The first service had taken place in 1929. This one took place in 1958.
