ASTEH values help

Letters

Editor: Jewish Family Service Agency (JFSA), Jewish Women International/Canada-B.C. chapter (JWI/C-BC) and Jewish Women Against Domestic Violence (JWADV) would like to thank everyone, including the Jewish Western Bulletin, for their support in making ASTEH (Alternative Short-Term Emergency Housing) a reality.

The community response has been spectacular and the generous financial support of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Vancouver and the Face the World Foundation has been invaluable. Special thanks to our corporate donors: Ed's Linens, Hospitality Designs, Pacific Protective Systems and to all of the volunteers who have made ASTEH possible.

The support of JWI/C-BC JWADV's recent kitchen shower, held at Schara Tzedeck Synagogue, demonstrated the commitment that this community has for making sure that everyone in our community has a safe place to stay. Our thanks to Schara Tzedeck for hosting our shower, and to Temple Sholom's Grade 6 students who prepared and donated the centrepiece shower baskets.

If you would like to make a financial contribution to ASTEH, contact the JFSA at 604-257-5151.

Selina Robinson, JFSA
Sara Ciacci, JWI/C-BC
Marion Poliakoff, JWADV
